Walking
Brandon View B&B is situated on the border between the counties of Carlow and Kilkenny. While staying at Brandon View Bed and Breakfast our guests can experience the beautiful countryside and attractions of both counties. This area is renowned for its picturesque countryside and many walking routes, varying from the peaceful walk route along the river Barrow where an abundance of wild life can be seen, or for the more energetic walker, the climb of Brandon Hill, which overlooks the quaint town of Graignamangh. Other walks include Mount Leinster Way where Guests may wish to take time out from their walking to sit and watch the Hang Gliding which takes place most Sundays weather permitting from March to September. Mount Leinster is an internationally renowned location for Hang Gliding.
Golf
Our guests are spoilt for choice with Borris Golf Club a nine hole course, situated in the grounds of Borris House just minutes away. Carrigleade Golf Course is located just 2km away from Brandon View B and B and a visit to the famous Mount Juliet Golf Course is a must for the more fanatic golfer.
Quad Biking
The more adventourous can enjoy cross country trekking on a quad bike through woodlands and over hills and rivers. The Quad Biking is led by a qualified instructor. The weather wont deter because the saying the "wetter the better" is true. This is great fun and is only minutes away from Brandon View B&B. Visit www.countryquads.net
Canoeing & Fishing
The River Barrow in Kilkenny is renowned for its excellent fishing stocks of pike, trout, salmon etc. Each year there is an annual shad fishing competition held in May. Visit www.gowiththeflow.com who offer people the oppourtunity to see our beautiful countryside from a different perspective as you meander your canoe down the River Barrow. They organise the rental of the canoes, wet gear etc. Qualified River Guides conduct these water adventures catering for all requirements.
Painting Holidays/Weekends
Dranagh Studio is just 3km down the road where Mairead Holohan hosts painting holidays and weekends throughout the year a package deal can be organised.
